The first was fine, the second one I had to send back because the CD doors were defective and would not open properly after pushing the button. But make sue the unit is not defective, test all the functions thoroughly when you unpack the unit. This is the second unit I've purchased. Other than that, I find the sound quality superior, and being a professional recording artist, I am quite impressed with the clarity and resolution of the speaker system.
I sent it back to the manufacturer and besides acknowledging it's receipt, I haven't received a response as to when they are going to get a new one to me that works. The iPod portion worked fine but neither of the doors on the cd player worked. This was my Christmas gift and my husband and I spent a lot of time researching a new cd player before we settled on it. I was very disappointed when I received it and set it up and it didn't work. One just opened and closed repeatedly by itself and the other side wouldn't open at all.
I called the customer service line and I was sent another one. That has amazing sound. The iLuv does an okay job playing music. The only thing I should have to add to this product is my iPod. Great, you say. But it really doesn't do as well of a job as I expected for about $200 dollars. It was just that they didn't make that remote anymore. I was finally able to speak with someone in the Tech Dept and he comfirmed what I'd been saying to the other manager.
It just sits on my bookshelf collecting dust. Well not so great when they sent the wrong remote. (I bought the iLuv right after they came out late 2006/2007). But I don't love the iLuv. I hardly ever use it.
But he did have an extra on hand and sent it to me no charge. That manager told me that I was wrong and that the broken remote I was holding IN MY HAND, while talking to her, didn't exist. Sure it's cute and trendy to look at. Instead I use my speaker system on my computer. I feel like I got taken. I'm still looking for something else, though. Then the C.S.
The bass is, well, nonexistant. For that price I shouldn't HAVE to add an external subwoofer. manager argued with me about the functions of my original remote. Too much drama and hype about a product that does NOT deliver. I'll tell you what, I will NEVER buy another Item with the iLuv brand. I am very disappointed with this product. So the remote to this system didn't work.
That was cool.Other than the shrew in Customer Service that I had to deal with, all was okay.
My wife was very unhappy with the product. I had the feeling the product was refurbished before I opened it :) However, after using it for a day I needed to return it in order to save my marriage. CD player hung all the time like old CD players do after a while.your call
Remote and iPod charger work fine. Slightly bigger than I thought with the detached speakers. Functionality, sound and controls all as advertised. Great deal for the money.
